On
the afternoon of Wednesday January 11, 2023, a party turned tragic at a hostel
in Dapaong, a town some 613 km from Lomé. A man lost his life in the middle of
the action with a girl, after swallowing a few aphrodisiac tablets. What really
happened? How can we explain this phenomenon?
According
to media reports, a man died in a hostel in the Worgou district of Dapaong. The
man, in his late forties, arrived at the inn to satisfy his libido with his
partner.
A
few moments later, the young girl left the room with a worried look on her
face. When questioned by the manager, she suggested that her partner had had a
fit. The manager rushed into the room, where he made the grisly discovery,
reported the website « laabali.com ».
« The unfortunate infidel was lying naked, the sweet stick held
tight, mouth open, drooling like a pig in heat. The police were alerted. Once
on the scene, the victim was taken to hospital, but too late. The morgue was
the best place for the man who, a few hours ago, was spending a heavenly moment
between the thighs of a fairy », according to the site.
On
the news, the girl has been arrested by the police for investigative purposes. « We
learn that the girl stated that her man in an effort to make the lital feast
more delicious had swallowed some aphrodisiac tablets », revealed the
local media.Unfortunately, in the middle of the sexual romp, he started
drooling and had difficulty breathing.
What
is an aphrodisiac?
Today,
more and more men are turning to aphrodisiacs to stimulate their sexuality. « An
aphrodisiac is any substance designed to stimulate sexual desire and
excitement. These products are supposed to stimulate the libido, promote the
intensity of orgasm, facilitate erection in men, or increase sexual performance
in either men or women », defines Dr Saybou Savadogo, Pharmacist
Toxicologist at the Laboratoire National de Santé Publique, in Burkina
Faso.Aphrodisiacs can be chemical or natural. All chemical products are
dangerous.Worse still, chemical aphrodisiacs, when we know the process, their
reaction: bringing, draining the flow of blood in the veins for a hard,
satisfying erection, should be avoided.
« First,
the source, the manufacturer. The aphrodisiac you want to pay for, who's the
manufacturer? If it's a chemical laboratory, but the aphrodisiac will be
chemical; therefore the chemical consequences, destructive, influencing the
heart rate negatively.Knowing that sexual intercourse goes with the
back-and-forth, this accelerated cadence, with good stamina, it's obvious that
the consumer of the chemical aphrodisiac dies, either on the partner or after
the first intercourse; the receptionists and subsequently the police come to
see the damage in the hotels », warns a biomedical
researcher.
Risks
and dangers
Aphrodisiac
products or tablets on the market can have serious repercussions on the health
of those who use them. These aphrodisiac
products cause sexual violence. If a man takes them, he becomes
hyper-performant. And if the woman refuses to continue the sexual act, there's
a risk of provoking aggression in the married couple.According to Dr Saybou
Savadogo, a pharmacist and toxicologist, a number of more or less frequent
adverse effects can be observed among aphrodisiac users. « Frequent
side effects include headaches, facial redness and blocked noses.Infrequent
side effects include dizziness, back pain, drowsiness, sinusitis, blurred
vision, hot flushes, shortness of breath on exertion, heart acceleration and
heart palpitations », he points out.
The
toxicologist pharmacist goes on to say that « in the event of
overdosage, more serious side effects may occur, such as a significant drop or
increase in blood pressure, a painful prolonged erection known as priapism, or
cardiac arrest leading to sudden death ».
Advice
The
use of these aphrodisiac drugs requires supervision.Several illnesses and risks
are associated with these tablets, including heart problems and even sudden
death. « As with any medication,
overuse of these tablets can have adverse effects on health over time. They may
be contraindicated in certain people, such as those with recent myocardial
infarction, stroke, angina pectoris, heart rhythm disorders, uncontrolled high
blood pressure or severe heart or kidney failure », explains Dr Saybou
Savadogo.
The
first fundamental step to regaining libido is to take care of yourself, not
your libido. We advise you to improve the quality of your sleep, take regular
exercise and set aside a few moments to relax. If, despite this advice, your
libido doesn't return, don't hesitate to consult a doctor.
