The German cooperation implemented by GIZ and its partners, including the Ministry of Health of Togo, the Association Racine Féminine, the Association des Tantines de Kara pour le Développement, the Maison des Jeunes de Lomé, the Association Togolaise pour le Bien Être Familiale, the Association des Sages-Femmes du Togo, the Association CLE, are organising a health promotion through various activities at the International Fair of Lomé

The Lomé International Fair, which started on 30 November 2022, receives a large number of visitors, at least 300,000 visitors according to the organisers. During this fair, the German cooperation implemented by GIZ and its partners offer free health services and quality health information to exhibitors and visitors.

Among other services, free and anonymous HIV testing, free vaccination against COVID-19, free distribution of condoms and menstrual cycle booklets. The midwives' association raises awareness on topics such as sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people, contraception, gender-based violence and menstrual cycle management.  Three stands are set up for the occasion. The first stand, dedicated to reproductive health services, is located in the OTI pavilion and next to the entrance of the sponsors' village. This stand reads "Female Root". These services are available until 18 December 2022. The second stand offers services related to free vaccination against COVID-19 and is located on the esplanade on the far left and opposite the CETEF Directorate. Vaccinators from the Ministry of Health and Red Cross agents are clearly visible at this stand. This service is available throughout the fair. The third stand where free HIV testing is offered is located on the esplanade on the far right and opposite the CEET stand. Free HIV testing was available from 2 to 5 December 2022 and will be available again on 17 and 18 December 2022.

The German cooperation implemented by GIZ and its partners invite all exhibitors and visitors to visit its stands to benefit from its free health services.
